An American Board Certified Surgeon, Dr. Alshkaki completed his residency in General Surgery at Oregon Health and Science University located in Portland, Oregon as well as yearlong fellowships in the fields of General, Bariatric and Advanced Laparoscopic surgery. And is a fellow of the Royal College of surgeons Of Ireland.

Dr Alshkaki is a member of The American College of Surgeons, SSAT and SAGES, SLS, His main interest is Advanced Laparoscopic Minimally Invasive Surgery, Has been practicing medicine for over fifteen years his main area of expertise includes but not limited to , Bariatrics and colorectal Surgery , Minimal invasive hernia repairs and endocrine surgery including thyroid diseases. He also has many publications in the field of General Surgery and is on peer review committees for international journals. Dr Alshkaki is the Medical Director of The Center for Colorectal Health in Virginia, DC Area and is in charge of the GI lab in Inova Alexandria Hospital.
